The Atlanta Sisterlocks Meetup Is Born - Calling all Sisterlocked Atlantans

A big hi to everyone and here's a little announcement:
Well, I've taken the plunge and started a meetup specifically for anyone interested in Sisterlocks and other tool assisted locks in the Atlanta area. It's something I've been mulling over for ages but hadn't gone beyond the thinking stage.
I'd love to link up with other like minded sisters with Sisterlocks, nappylocs and other tool-assisted locks, to share our experiences and journeys. I'd specifically also be looking to bring together consultants -trainees and certified, for exchange, sharing, mentoring etc. Most of all, I'd hope we'd have fun, make friendships and create a real resource pool for those of us who have embarked or are contemplating locking as a way to wear our hair natural.
Why limit your group to Sisterlocks and tool locks some may ask? Because that's my experience and I am so totally in love with mine. I know there are other groups with a wider focus and I am glad for them. I believe embracing our God-given natural hair can be done in many ways. But my path has been the Sisterlock path and I'm looking for like-minded sisters and brothers who are interested in sharing this.
Check out The Atlanta Sisterlocks Meetupfor more information. I'm looking forward to seeing where this takes me as one of my goals to expand and develop in the New Year. Please spread the word. I'd specially like to link up with Sisterlocks meetup groups in other cities. Members coming to Atlanta would have an instant base of friends. Anyhow, I'll keep you all posted. I'm praying hard about this.

"Just the two of us"...Ama's sisterlocks are going on for 6 years and mine are nearly 4 and a half. Still loving our journeys...

Me- updates

Since the weather was nice today and I had my hair retightened courtesy of Ama, I decided to take a few updated pics.

Ama

It's been great to have Ama and my mum over for Christmas. We are having a great time and of course she's retightened my hair! My niece Kukua is the cutest sweetpea. She just turned one last week and learned to walk right here at our home in Atlanta.

Wedding

We attended a wedding New Year's eve and it was nice opportunity to wear one of my lace traditional outfits. Lovely wedding and the bride and many of the guests had natural hair and locks. Here's me and Nina.
