New Year, New Me...Here we Go!

So, I'm finally making my first post this year and we are already in April. Shame on me. Happy Easter every one.
Well I did it and really went for the big chop just before the end of last year. I cut off my Sisterlocks of nearly 6 years and have started again with a brand new set.

Why? Not really sure. I had become dissatisfied and the first cut I felt didn't go far enough. Now I have sisterlocks which are just about 2 inches in length max. It's amazing how fast you forget what the beginning was like. Now I'll be taking the journey alongside many of my wonderful clients.

I went home to Ghana last week to see my mum who has turned 78. We had a wonderful time with my twin sister Ama and family friends. Look at the contrast between me and Ama's hair.
One thing I know for sure I'll never ever NOT have sisterlocks.

Thanks all. I actually had my new sisterlocks installed last month(March). Initially, I cut my first set to a bob.

I agree with Bee. Change is a wonderful thing and you have to do what makes you happy.

How very brave of you to do a big chop. However, your new set looks really cute. Will keep looking for more pics on how your progress is going.

Iam 5 years sisterlocked and have had a strong urge to start a new set for ages now.

Did you pick them out or just cut and locked on the new growth or did you use any products to to "unlock" the locks? So many questions I know, but I desparately want to do the right thing rather than just cutting to an inch or less.

Dear "Anonymous"

I simply cut my locks..right at the beginning of where the "new growth" connected to the sisterlock. For about 4 days I felt so "exposed"...but now I'm loving it. The transition is feeling good to me. Now I just have to wait until my hair gets 1.5 inches...I believe it's only a half inch now (after I had it "shaped" up after I cut my locks). I'm using some pretty cool products on my TWA (Teeny weeny afro) 1. "promade it" by lustrasilk and 2. "kinky curly" I also picked up some "curl booster" by Carol's Daughter...Several people have told me about Paul Mitchell's styling mousse. I think it's pretty cool that they've created so many new products for "short hair" :)

Your sister's hair looks so beautiful. I am interested in getting Sister Locks. I found your website, and I would like to talk to you about becoming one of your clients. I don't live in Atlanta anymore, but I visit very often. We shall talk.
